This ride has been cleared of gorse and small trees and is now showing really good heather growth which is an aim in these woods

This shows the length of the area we had to tidy up.

The gorse at the side of the track is quite old and all needed clearing as well as the smaller trees

Following on from last week we continued with the heathland tidy up on Crabtree Hill. This is not far from Woorgreens Lake where a male and a female Kingfisher had been spotted, alongside Dunnocks and Goldcrests. The progress on Crabtree Hill has been very satisfying as the heather has been cleared of invading gorse and birch and should spread well over the next year.
