This is a Common Toad (Bufo Bufo) which was found by one of the team in the wooded undergrowth For more information on Toads click this -
The lake has a 'whirly pool' which takes the over flowing water out and directs it down to the stream.

This was a return visit during the summer to continue removing the invasive laurel. We worked on a track that we had not previously cleared and removed the over hanging laurel but will be returning again to provide more open space for other species to grow. It was a humid day and we were all unfit after the long summer break but it was good to get back together again.
