Orles Wood near The Bearse
Grid Ref SO573058
These are old woods with some very wide rides through them which we are keeping clear to encourage butterflies. A butterfly enthusiast reputedly counted sixteen different species of butterfly along the rides in the summer. During the day a fallow deer took time to stand and watch us and wild pheasants could be heard. The team got smothered in a hail storm during the day!
