The site is now much more open and will encourage wild plants, such as bullrushes, dragonflies and butterflies to populate it.

The pond is in the distance and cannot be seen on this image and the log piles have been left to rot down for the wildlife.

Summer work!

We had visited this site before to clear the pond which is now looking productive and the water is clear. This time we were clearing the bracken, bramble and dead trees to leave an open area between the pond and the village school. It was hot work even though the rain storms had abated for the day and a buzzard kept us company for a while.
